The Role
As a key player in our engineering team, you will support, maintain, and improve electrical and mechanical systems across automated production lines. Your focus will be on minimising downtime, improving efficiency, and ensuring the continuous, smooth operation of our plant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical fault finding, diagnostics, and repair of production machinery and control systems
- Supporting mechanical maintenance where required
- Reactive and planned maintenance on a wide range of automation equipment
- Working proactively to reduce unplanned stoppages and boost production efficiency
- Active involvement in continuous improvement initiatives
What We're Looking For
We're specifically interested in engineers with a strong electrical foundation and UK-recognised qualifications.
Essential Criteria:
- Recognised UK Electrical Qualification: Minimum: NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or Maintenance. If qualified overseas, you must have a UK Statement of Comparability
- Electrical Knowledge: Proficient in fault finding, wiring, control panels, sensors, relays, and motors. Experience with PLC systems, automation, and instrumentation is highly desirable
- 18th Edition
- Mechanical Competence: Basic mechanical maintenance skills to support hybrid tasks
- Strong theoretical knowledge and practical, hands-on skills
- Previous experience in food, FMCG, or high-speed manufacturing is advantageous
