Fraser James, a leading name in bespoke handmade kitchen and furniture manufacturing, is entering an exciting new phase of growth. We are seeking an exceptional Operations & Commercial Director to join the senior leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s future.

The Role

As Operations & Commercial Director, you will lead across both the manufacturing and commercial sides of the business. Your remit will include:

·Driving operational efficiency, quality, and scalability within the workshop and production facilities.

·Taking ownership of profitability and ensuring ambitious performance targets are met.

·Developing and delivering operational and commercial strategies aligned with company objectives.

·Leading continuous improvement initiatives across production, supply chain, and workflow processes.

·Partnering with the sales and marketing teams to maximise customer satisfaction and operational delivery.

·Providing technical and commercial insight to ensure Fraser James remains at the forefront of innovation and bespoke design.

·Building, mentoring, and leading a high-performing team across both operational and commercial functions.

·Monitoring and reporting on key performance metrics to the leadership team.

About You

We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven leader who can demonstrate:

·Proven senior leadership experience in manufacturing, ideally within kitchens, furniture, joinery, or a related sector. B2C experience desirable but not essential.

·Strong commercial acumen, with a successful track record of driving profitability.

·Hands-on technical expertise with a deep understanding of modern manufacturing processes and technologies.

·Excellent leadership and people management skills – with the ability to motivate, mentor, and grow cross-functional teams.

·A results-driven, continuous improvement mindset with a strong focus on innovation.
