Are you a hands-on Maintenance Engineer looking for your next challenge in a fast-paced production environment? We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical or Electrical Bias Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business in Milton Keynes. This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer who enjoys fault-finding, problem-solving, and working in a highly automated production environment.
The role can be tailored to suit either a mechanically biased engineer with basic electrical skills or an electrically biased engineer with strong mechanical understanding.
The Role
- As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring production equipment operates efficiently through planned preventative maintenance and fast-response reactive repairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across production machinery
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
- Minimise downtime and support continuous production performance
- Complete hands-on engineering work including fabrication, welding, milling, and lathe work
- Conduct electrical fault-finding on machinery and control systems
- Support continuous improvement and engineering projects
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience within manufacturing, production, FMCG, or food environments
- Mechanical or electrical engineering background
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability
- Hands-on maintenance engineering experience
- Mechanical engineers with fabrication and machining skills highly desirable
- Electrical engineers with fault-finding experience on industrial machinery highly desirable
- Positive attitude and proactive approach to maintenance
Desirable Skills
- Multi-skilled maintenance capability
- Experience within food manufacturing
- Knowledge of conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pneumatics, and sensors
- Experience working Panama shifts
