Profile
We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with a strong mechanical background. Candidates from heavy industry such as heavy engineering or similar environments are preferred, although other relevant industrial experience will be considered.
The Role
As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be part of a maintenance team responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of heavy industrial equipment, including:
- Crushers
- Conveyor systems
- Heavy process machinery
This is a high-volume, breakdown-focused environment, with a transition towards a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) system, so experience with or exposure to PPM is advantageous.
Key responsibilities include:
- Fault finding and diagnostics on mechanical process equipment
- Mechanical repair and maintenance of industrial machinery
- Arc welding (essential requirement)
- Reading and interpreting mechanical and CAD drawings
- Fitting and assembling mechanical components
- Working across multiple production lines (typically two lines), ensuring uptime
- Calling on additional engineering support when required
