Contract: 6-month contract (flexible days/nights/hours based on business needs). Always need to be able to work Fridays day and night shift.
Rate: £20.00 - £35.00 dependant on shift and inside or outside IR35.
The Opportunity: We are seeking a Factory Fit-Out Technician to provide flexible, hands-on support with factory fit-out and refurbishment projects across a busy FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) site. This role is ideal for someone with practical factory experience, who is physically fit, adaptable, and willing to take on a wide range of tasks—from site preparation and fit-out to whitewalling, flooring, sealing, and installations. You will work closely with the Site Engineering Manager and Operations Director to ensure the site is maintained, adapted, and improved efficiently, safely, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting factory fit-out projects, including installing and modifying production areas and welfare spaces.
- Carrying out whitewalling, flooring, and sealing works to ensure clean, safe, and compliant production areas.
- Assisting with layout changes, site adaptations, and minor structural modifications as required.
- Installing, moving, or adjusting fixtures, shelving, racking, and storage units as part of fit-out projects.
- Supporting refurbishment and site improvement tasks as directed by management.
- Ensuring the safe use of hand and power tools and adhering to all health and safety protocols on site.
- Working flexibly, including varying hours, shifts, and occasional weekends or out-of-hours work depending on business needs.
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience in factory fit-out, refurbishment, or general site works in an industrial or FMCG environment.
- Experience with whitewalling, flooring, sealing, or similar site fit-out tasks.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks (lifting, assembling, moving items up to 25kg).
- Flexible and adaptable—able to respond to changing business priorities.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong understanding of health & safety requirements in a production environment.
- Practical skills in assembly, minor fabrication, and general site improvements.
This is a 6-month flexible contract with no set working days—hours will be based on the operational needs of the business.
