We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Production / Operations Manager to support a growing bakery operation based in Mid Glamorgan. This is a contract-only interim assignment, focused on delivering immediate leadership, structure, and operational improvement within a fast-paced food production environment while the business recruits a permanent member of the team.
The Role
This is not an office-based position. You will be a visible, hands-on leader on the shop floor, working closely with teams to drive performance and support growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading day-to-day bakery production operations
- Stabilising and developing production teams
- Driving improvements in efficiency, quality, and output
- Implementing structure, processes, and best practices
- Engaging teams and leading change in a practical, supportive way
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Production or Operations Manager
- Strong background in food manufacturing or bakery production (preferred)
- Hands-on leadership style with a strong presence on the shop floor
- Experience working in growing or changing environments
- Ability to build trust, influence positively, and bring teams with you
- Flexible approach to working hours, including shift support where required
- Ideally based within commuting distance of Mid Glamorgan / South Wales
