Role Overview

Our client is seeking a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join their team. You will be responsible for both electrical and mechanical maintenance on new and existing equipment. While a background in food manufacturing is preferred, the client is open to candidates with transferable skills and a positive, proactive attitude. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will ensure that all plant, equipment, and site services are maintained and repaired in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner, maximizing plant efficiency. You will also help manage the engineering resource and ensure compliance with all current codes of practice, standards, and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain all equipment and plant to the highest standards.
  • React promptly and efficiently to breakdowns.
  • Perform PLC fault finding to input and output level.
  • Resolve issues highlighted by in-house HACCP audits.
  • Respond to out-of-hours calls for breakdowns as required.
  • Improve machine reliability through planned preventative maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot electrical equipment effectively.

Experience & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience with food process machinery, but the client is also happy to consider candidates with transferable skills from other industries.

Essential/Preferred Qualifications:

  • BTEC/ONC qualification in an Electrical discipline, or Multi-Skilled Engineering qualification.
  • C&G 2330 Level 3 Electro-technical certificate combined with NVQ3 Electrical Maintenance.
  • Time-served apprentice.
  • HNC in Electrical, Mechanical, or Production Maintenance Engineering.
