We are working on behalf of a well-established and highly respected building services and HVAC specialist to recruit an experienced Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Sales Engineer to join their growing team based in Oxford. The Role
Reporting to the Technical Sales Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, developing existing client relationships, and managing projects from initial enquiry through to handover.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing new business across commercial, industrial, and residential sectors, including end users, fit-out contractors, and main contractors.
- Conducting detailed site surveys and producing system designs, proposals, and quotations.
- Managing projects from contract setup through installation delivery to final handover.
- Preparing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Working closely with internal engineers and subcontractors to ensure installations are delivered to a high standard.
- Providing technical support and attending site visits where required.
- Identifying and securing PPM agreements and FM opportunities following project completion.
- Focusing primarily on split and VRF systems, with additional involvement in refrigeration installations and equipment.
The Person
We are seeking an experienced and commercially aware professional with strong technical knowledge and a proven ability to win profitable work.
Essential experience and attributes:
- Strong working knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration systems, particularly:
- Split systems
- VRF / VRV systems
- Walk-in cold rooms and freezers
- Proven track record in achieving sales targets and developing profitable business.
- Solid understanding of health & safety requirements within HVAC and refrigeration projects.
- Good financial and commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets.
- Excellent communication skills with customers, colleagues, and subcontractors.
- Flexible, proactive, and solutions-focused approach.
Desirable:
- Basic CAD experience.
- Knowledge of ventilation and ductwork design.
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence.
- Right to live and work in the UK.
The Package
The successful candidate will receive:
- Basic salary £45,000 - £52,000 (depending on experience)
