Key Details:
Salary: Β£35,000 β Β£42,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Contract : 40 hour week plus lunch ( 8.30-5pm) β overtime paid after
Holiday: 21 days inclusive of bank holidays
On call β 1 in 4 – Β£75 per call out ( covering 2 hrs travel + 1 hrs on site ) x1.5 paid after Monday β Saturday and Β£90 call out on a Sunday then 1.x5 Introduction:
We are seeking an experienced Building Reactive Engineer to join our company based in the South East. We currently employ over 150 engineers in the South East alone across the Mechanical & Electrical sector, including commercial gas and air conditioning.
As we continue to grow, we are looking to expand our Fabric Maintenance / Building Maintenance Team to support a portfolio of commercial clients in the Retail and Hospitality sector across the London area.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will carry out a wide range of planned and reactive building fabric maintenance tasks across a variety of commercial buildings. This is a mobile role, covering multiple client sites within London, ensuring a high standard of service and client satisfaction at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) and reactive maintenance across commercial sites
Carry out general building fabric works including:
Carpentry repairs
Basic plumbing
Tiling, painting, and decorating
Patch plastering
Lock and door repairs
General handyman tasks
Carry out small remedial works and minor installations as required
Ensure health & safety procedures are followed at all times
Liaise with clients on-site, maintaining excellent customer service
Complete job reports and update CAFM systems (where applicable) Requirements:
Proven experience in a building reactive or fabric engineering role (commercial settings preferred)
Trade background desirable (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, decorating)
Full UK driving licence (Essential)
Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements
Able to work independently and use initiative to resolve issues
Strong customer service and communication skills #ENG1
