A Day in the Life of an RN - Emergency Room
In this role, Registered Nurses in the Emergency Department provide direct and indirect patient care, ensuring each individual receives the highest quality of treatment according to medical center protocols. Key responsibilities include administering medications, performing treatments, and conducting thorough nursing assessments while collaborating closely with physicians, other nurses, and healthcare professionals. Challenges often faced include managing high-stress situations, rapidly changing conditions, and maintaining precision during emergent patient care. This role requires effective communication with patients and their families to understand and meet their needs, often under pressing circumstances. Shift work is typical in this environment, requiring flexibility and the ability to adapt to varying patient loads and acuity.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
Required
- American Heart Association ACLS and PALS within 4 months of hire
- American Heart Association BLS within 30 days of hire
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) within 1 year of hire
- Current Minnesota RN license
Preferred
- A minimum of 2 years prior critical care experience
Compensation and Benefits
The pay range is listed above. Actual pay rate offered is determined based on experience as an RN. Please be sure to include all applicable experience in your application.
