A Day in the Life of a Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA): As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will be fundamental in obtaining, processing, and analyzing biological specimens to aid in patient diagnosis and management. Your duties include setting up tests, ensuring accuracy in specimen handling, and performing both complex and simple lab tests. You will work under pressure and use effective problem-solving skills to adapt to varying conditions and urgent situations. Collaboration with laboratory technologists, supervisors, and healthcare providers is crucial for accurate sharing of findings and enhancing patient care. Additionally, adherence to strict regulatory standards and maintaining a clean and organized work environment are key responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience Required:
  • Able to provide diploma of highest degree obtained
  • MLA ASCP Certification within 2 years of hire
Preferred:
  • Candidates enrolled in MLT or MLS program upon hire

Compensation and Benefits: The pay range is listed above. Actual pay rate offered is determined based on experience in this role. Please be sure to include all applicable experience in your application.
