Position Summary
Avionics Technicians are responsible to the Supervisor and shall ensure that the procedure outlined in the repair station manual as well as all FAA Regulations and manufacturer’s instructions are complied with. Work involves routine maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, modification of aircraft systems, and installations. Responsibilities include component removal and reinstallation, operational checks, and leak checks. The technician must use sound judgment and technical aptitude for maintenance decisions, troubleshooting, and discrepancy resolution.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Ensure all repairs follow approved methods, manufacturer’s specifications, FAA Regulations, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives.
- Coordinate activities within the shop to minimize delays and increase efficiency.
- Complete all work in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and TITLE 14 CFR part 43.
- Protect all parts and assemblies from loss or damage.
- Properly complete all repair station forms.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the work area.
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and in good condition.
- Handle parts properly and preserve units during work.
- Familiarity with repair station manual, FAA Regulations, Airworthiness Directives, and manufacturer’s documents.
- Communicate progress with the supervisor.
- Perform electrical, avionics repairs, inspections, installations, and modifications.
- Interpret technical manuals, drawings, and blueprints.
- Sign off discrepancies with complete information.
- Promote a positive attitude and teamwork.
- Assist in meeting schedules and quality standards.
- Follow safety precautions and use protection devices.
- Work inspected by qualified personnel unless off-site repairs.
- Participate in strategizing maintenance tactics.
- Provide leadership and communication.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
Environmental Conditions
Industrial/Hangar environment.
Minimum Education Requirement
- High School Diploma or GED
- Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate (preferred)
- FCC License (optional)
- Two or more years related experience or training.
Minimum Work Experience
- Understanding of 145 repair station operations/regulations.
- Experience in aircraft avionics installations and repairs.
Other Requirements
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to pass background and drug screening.
Qualifications and Skills
- Results-oriented with organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Leadership qualities and ability to motivate.
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and Corridor preferred.
- Knowledge of aircraft operated at this location.

$25-$45/hr DOE
