We are seeking an experienced and committed Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join a well-established Alternative Provision in West Drayton. This is a full-time, permanent, term-time only position, offering the opportunity to make a real difference to the safety, wellbeing and outcomes of vulnerable young people.

As the Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will take strategic and operational responsibility for safeguarding and child protection, ensuring that policies, procedures and practice are fully compliant with statutory guidance and reflect best practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on all aspects of safeguarding and child protection across the provision
  • Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, managing referrals to external agencies
  • Ensure compliance with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE)
  • Maintain accurate safeguarding records and case files
  • Provide safeguarding advice, guidance and training to staff
  • Work closely with senior leaders, families and external professionals
  • Promote a strong culture of safeguarding throughout the setting
The Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience in a safeguarding role is essential
  • Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and safeguarding procedures
  • Experience working with vulnerable children or young people
  • Confident managing complex safeguarding cases
  • Highly organised, resilient and able to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication and multi-agency working skills
  • Experience within Alternative Provision, SEN or similar settings is desirable
