As Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all production operations, ensuring that manufacturing processes run efficiently, meet quality standards, and align with the company’s lean principles and CARE behaviours (Communication, Action, Respect, Empowerment). You will be expected to drive continuous improvement, process ownership, and strategic leadership within production. You will be tasked with enhancing productivity, reducing waste, optimising resources, and fostering a culture of accountability and problem-solving, ensuring that the team takes ownership of improvements rather than just suggesting them.

Key Result Areas

  • Production Efficiency & Lean Operations: Oversee production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and timely delivery of all products. Lead lean initiatives to reduce the eight wastes, streamline workflows, and enhance operational effectiveness. Implement structured problem-solving methodologies to continuously improve production performance. Drive adherence to standard work practices, ensuring consistency in machine operation, material handling, and order fulfilment. Lead, mentor, and develop the production team, fostering a culture of accountability and ownership. Empower supervisors and team leaders to proactively solve production issues rather than escalating them without solutions. Identify training needs and work with HR to upskill production staff, ensuring competency across all machinery and processes. Encourage a high-performance culture, tracking individual and team performance against set goals.
  • Process Improvement & Waste Reduction: Monitor and refine processes to eliminate inefficiencies, reduce defects, and minimise downtime. Conduct root cause analysis on recurring issues, ensuring sustainable solutions are implemented. Implement and oversee 5S and visual management systems to maintain an organised and productive workspace. Work closely with the Technical Director to identify and integrate new technologies that improve production capabilities.
  • Health, Safety & Compliance: Ensure that all health and safety regulations are met, fostering a safe working environment. Conduct risk assessments and incident investigations, implementing corrective actions as needed. Lead safety briefings, toolbox talks, and compliance audits to ensure best practices are followed. Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Customer Experience, and Logistics to align production capabilities with business needs. Maintain clear and proactive communication with stakeholders regarding production progress, challenges, and improvements. Report key production metrics to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making.
