About the Company

We’re not your average manufacturer. We’re a tech-obsessed, data-driven business on a mission to create a fully automated, Industry 4.0-ready factory—one smart system at a time.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Controls & Automation Engineer who loves solving problems, building cool things, and pushing boundaries with automation, robotics, and data. If you’re as comfortable with PLC code as you are with crawling under machines, this one’s for you. Whilst it would be great, it's not a must that you’re experienced in the industry with all of the skills listed in this job advert. If you’re a fresh graduate (potentially in an Engineering related field) who’s switched on, loves to get their hands dirty, and is handy with AI, then this is a fantastic opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Equipment Maintenance (30%)
    • Keeping our modern machinery running smoothly
    • Being the hero when breakdowns happen
    • Creating smart maintenance systems that prevent problems before they start
  • Factory Automation & Design (70%)
    • Basic projects: PLC-controlled dust extraction systems and powered conveyors
    • Mid-level challenges: Automated vision systems for quality control that catch what human eyes miss
    • Advanced systems: Fully automated robotic sorting and packing stations that seem like magic!

Required Skills

  • Controls systems fundamentals
  • PLC programming and design
  • SCADA and HMI concepts
  • Electrical and mechanical basics
  • Industrial networking and communication protocols
  • Motion control systems (servo/stepper motors)
  • Data collection and analysis
  • Vision systems

Preferred Skills

  • CNC experience
  • IoT technology
  • Raspberry Pi or Arduino tinkering
  • Python coding
  • Experience with MES/ERP systems
  • VFD configuration
  • Anything else cool and tech-related you’ve played with!

Pay range and compensation package

£30,000 - £48,000 depends on experience and passion for automation. Access to high-end tools and personal project time. Training budget available.
