The Role:
We are looking for a Business Development Manager with strong experience in building and managing pipelines, owning client relationships, and smashing sales targets. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in startup environments, enjoys wearing multiple hats, and wants to be part of a product that's scaling fast with cutting-edge technology. You'll work closely with our product team to keep ensuring we are creating the most useful products for our customers, as well as making sure our app meets current client needs.
Responsibilities
- Identify and detail new revenue growth opportunities, working with the product team for planning
- Manage junior sales team members
- Develop relationships with key decision-makers, becoming a trusted partner
- Drive revenue growth across the UK market
- Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy for the UK region
- Negotiate contracts and work with junior sales team members to manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure
- Find and attend trade events, producing ROI reports
- Report on sales performance and pipeline to leadership
Requirements
- 5+ years in sales or business development
- Understanding of UK customs industry
- Experience managing junior sales team members
- Strong understanding of UK business environment and regulatory landscape
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to build trust and long-term relationships with senior stakeholders
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking
- Familiarity with CRM systems (Close & Apollo) and sales automation tools
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a distributed team
- Fortnightly team day in London
Nice to Have
- Experience in B2B SaaS sales, ideally in AI or tech solutions
- Prior experience in a startup SaaS environment
