Cushman and Wakefield are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join their Occupier Services team at Surveyor / Senior Surveyor level, working on one of their most prestigious client accounts. There will be daily collaboration with the Global Occupier Services team in addition to other skills lines across the Cushman and Wakefield business. The purpose of this role will be to provide our occupier clients with full, professional Property Management services. You will work closely with colleagues across the UK offices and will be based at our Glasgow or Edinburgh Offices, with regular attendance at the client’s sites also required.

Core Responsibilities:
  • To be the focal point for all property related queries for a portfolio of properties and to take ownership of all matters to ensure the effective operational of allocated sites.
  • Liaison with clients and 3rd parties i.e. landlords, their agents and solicitors to ensure uninterrupted use of the client’s premises, effectively acting as the intermediary between landlord and tenant.
  • Identify and drive through cost savings for corporate occupiers.
  • For sublet properties, monitor income collection and tenant liaison.
  • Manage exit strategies for freehold and leasehold properties being vacated, including supporting the vacant process and inspecting to certify premises vacated.
  • Ensure adherence to lease terms and compliance with statutory requirements and advising clients of same.
  • Contribute towards budgeting for the client to ensure that services undertaken are done so within the client’s budget.
  • Manage and liaise with other Cushman & Wakefield teams and other professionals to provide a full service to the client.
  • Direct and frequent client contact and reporting.
  • Contribution to achievement of client and departmental targets.
  • Delivery of regular and accurate client reports.
  • Services undertaken within client budget.
  • Inspections of third party let portfolio with travel to sites encouraged where appropriate.
Knowledge & Experience:
  • General practice background for either a corporate, public sector or private practice.
  • Experience of working in a large practice and/or corporate environment would be advantageous.
  • Rounded experience of general surveying skills – not restricted to a narrow practice area.
  • The ability to think about the interaction between Property and other business functions within a Corporate Occupier.
  • An understanding of business development and client relationship management.
  • Experience in networking and building relationships internally and externally.
  • Up to date knowledge of legislation regarding Property Management.
  • A strong understanding of Service Charge including RICS guidance.
  • Strong IT skills (Excel/Outlook/Word).
  • Knowledge or experience of applying A.I. in a property context to provide insights and improve efficiencies.
  • Property Management / general practice background for or within either a corporate, public sector or private practice.
  • Line management experience advantageous.
  • Experience in liaison with Facilities Management, Transaction Management and Finance/Accounting teams.
Qualifications:
  • Degree level estate management qualification or equivalent desired.
  • Membership of RICS desired but will consider those already on the path to RICS qualification.
  • Full driving licence.
