Role Description This full-time, on-site Multi Skilled Engineer role is based in Ipswich. The engineer will carry out a range of maintenance and repair tasks based in a multi story bulding, including basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building work. Day-to-day responsibilities may include diagnosing issues, performing preventative maintenance, completing reactive repairs, and supporting refurbishment or fit-out projects as needed. The engineer will also be expected to keep accurate records of work carried out, follow health and safety procedures, and communicate clearly with colleagues and clients when needed.
Qualifications
- Strong practical skills across multiple trades (e.g., basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance).
- Experience in property maintenance, facilities management, or construction, preferably within commercial developments.
- Knowledge of relevant building regulations, safety standards, and best practices for on-site work.
- Ability to diagnose technical issues, plan repairs, and use appropriate tools and equipment safely.
- Good communication skills, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage workloads, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate job records.
- Relevant vocational qualifications or certifications in building services, maintenance, or a core trade are highly beneficial.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites within the Ipswich area, if required.
