About the role: You will be working within our Product Design Team at our Uxbridge Headquarters, reporting into our Senior Design Manager. Your responsibilities include:
- Design, develop & present product for Curvy Kate and Brastop Internal brands according to design brief and fit critical path.
- Research & report upon trends in fabrics, products, fit and price within the Lingerie & Swimwear market.
- Source & develop new fabrics & componentry, which are fit for purpose and production viable, via factories and Interfiliere shows within the target cost parameters of brands.
- Create and maintain concept CADs, garment specifications, BOMs for assigned product.
- Ensure established standard of fit, componentry and overall product are checked and maintained throughout product development.
- Develop further awareness of own brand and competitor product fit and performance.
- Maintain open channels of communication with overseas factories, Buying & Merchandising team and maintain effective communication.
- Maintain an overview of the colour work required for Curvy Kate & Brastop Internal Product.
- Review & feedback on colour submissions in accordance with the Production Critical Path.
- Develop the fit of assigned Products in line with Production Critical Path.
- Demonstrate consistent application of fit assessment & pattern development via Lectra software.
- Apply and develop grade rules for assigned product in accordance with the Curvy Kate grading standards and adhere to confirmed blocks to maintain fit consistency.
- Plan grade sizes and wear test models to effectively assess the fit and performance of the product.
About you: To be successful in the role of Junior Technical Designer at Curvy Kate and Brastop, you will have the following qualifications / experience:
- Experience using Lectra Modaris pattern cutting & grading software.
- Experience in the fit & development of fuller bust products.
- Creates beautiful product CADs using Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop.
- Understanding of the technical requirements and production viability for fuller bust product.
- Use of Adobe illustrator to create technical CADs.
- Attention to detail and passionate pursuit of great-fitting product.
- A passionate, proactive, creative team player.
- Awareness of innovation & trends in the lingerie & swimwear sector.
- Excellent communicator, who enjoys presenting to colleagues & external partners.
