Role Purpose:
As an industry disruptor in the consumer payments field, Curve is searching for an experienced Senior FP&A Analyst to join our fast-paced team. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for financial planning and analysis, boasting substantial know-how in financial modelling, forecasting, and strategic decision-making. The first deliverable in this role is to redesign and automate modelling & reporting of operating costs by department.
You’ll play a critical role in shaping the future of Curve by providing key insights into business performance, facilitating an effective planning process & developing our financial capabilities. This is a highly visible role with exposure across the leadership team and key business stakeholders
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust financial models and forecasts to support the company\’s strategic objectives and decision making.
- Automate & own the reporting of operating costs at a departmental level
- Partner with the Strategy team to support modelling requirements for new business initiatives.
- Spearhead the budgeting process; liaise with stakeholders across the business to align on assumptions, including review and data manipulation of complex financial models.
- Establishing clear principles and timetables to support the business in setting budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor key performance indicators, pinpointing trends and analysing unexpected variances
- Support the preparation of management accounts across Curve’s BUs and review/ validate financials on a monthly basis for reporting purposes to senior management and the Board.
- Develop a robust understanding of Curve’s business model and underlying drivers, in order to explain performance and strategic issues in a clear, concise manner.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships across the business, being recognised as a trusted and reliable source of commercial insight and effective management information.
- Strategic ad-hoc analysis and special projects as required.
- Support with ad-hoc investor requests.
The type of modelling work includes:
- Integrated 3-statement models, DCF models, Operating models
- Financial forecast, Valuations and Scenario modelling
- Development of data models to support modelling and analytics deliverables
Requirements
- Bachelor\’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
- A minimum of 3+ years\’ experience in a Financial Planning & Analysis role, ideally in a high-growth startup or tech company environment.
- Financial modelling, budgeting, business planning, forecasting and analysis experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and a working knowledge of Power Query, VBA, Python, R and SQL.
- Delivering large-scale financial projects, including designing and implementing financial models.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proactive, creative, self-motivated, and solution-oriented.
- Highly structured, analytical and enthusiastic “roll up your sleeves” mentality.
