Overview: Based within one of our Secondary Schools, you will work up to 35 hours per week. When work is available you will be contacted. There is no obligation on the Children and Families Service to offer you work, nor are you obliged to accept work. If you have any queries regarding this vacancy, please contact Phil Smith by email.
Requirements: You will be GTCS Registered (Secondary), have knowledge of relevant curriculum areas and an awareness of main current issues in Scottish education. For Roman Catholic schools you will also be required to apply for RC Church approval at the same time as submitting your application form.
Responsibilities: You will deliver quality education to assigned pupils and contribute, within the collegiate ethos, to the professional life of the school.
The Individual: You will also demonstrate application and knowledge of Curriculum for Excellence and have evidence of appropriate Professional Learning in a range of areas. In addition, you will have a positive and caring approach and commitment to young people, have good communication/interpersonal skills and relate well to others. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
