RequirementsYou will have an HNC/SVQ Level 3, or equivalent, in a relevant subject.
ResponsibilitiesYour primary responsibility will be to assist the Senior Private Sector Services Officer in surveying properties and examining plans, bills of quantities and estimates at application stage, interim inspections and instalment claims during the progress of work and examining final accounts, in connection with improvement and repairs, including Care & Repair, to private sector properties and evaluating the amount applicable to grant. Surveying and reporting on Council owned properties and below tolerable standard private sector referrals. Secondary and tertiary responsibilities include, as required, surveying properties and examining necessary documentation and preparing reports in respect of applications and enforcement action for the regulation of licences for houses in multiple occupation, short term lets and landlord registration.
The IndividualYou will have relevant experience in inter‐agency working, surveying properties and identification of typical building defects and remedial works. You will have experience dealing with the public face‐to‐face and in confrontational situations, and work with sensitive issues on a private and confidential basis. You will have good organisational skills and working to fixed deadlines, good written/oral communication and IT skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Office 365. You will have a current driving licence and a willingness to work out of hours.
