Based at various locations, you will work full time, 37 hours per week including evenings and weekends on a rota basis on a temporary basis until July 2027.

Requirements:

  • You will have a basic Secondary Education.
  • A National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).
  • An Amateur Swimming Association - Teachers Certificate/UKCC Level 1 or 2.

Responsibilities:

  • You will maintain the cleanliness of the water and pool area at the base school and any other school as part of the evening rota or covering for absence.
  • You will provide lifeguard cover at the base school and assist the teaching staff with swimming instruction.

The Individual:

  • You will have experience of working with children and have good communication skills and a flexible attitude.
  • You must be willing to undertake training to gain a Pool Plant Operators qualification within one year of appointment.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
