Working in a hybrid style, based at home and Dundee House, you will work full time, 37 hours per week. This is a career grade post, grade 5-9. Placing on this grade will be dependent on qualifications and experience in line with our career grade structure.
Requirements
- You will have HND or degree in Building or Architectural Technology.
Responsibilities
- You will assist in providing a complete range of architectural services to the council and its service departments and to external public agencies, as directed by the Architectural Services Manager.
- You will represent the Architectural Services Manager on construction projects and maintenance projects emanating from the Division and ensure compliance with professional standards and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations as appropriate.
The Individual
- You will have experience as an Architectural Technician and sound and extensive knowledge of building construction techniques and detailing.
- You will be familiar with contract law and contract conditions, have competent AutoCAD skills and knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, including CDM.
- You will be able to demonstrate an awareness of Retrofit, Enerphit and Passive House.
- You will have effective time management skills to achieve project objectives, good negotiating skills and working knowledge of Microsoft packages e.g. Office 365, Microsoft Word and Excel.
- You will be able to undertake site visits and surveys, including working at height, in confined spaces.
