Salary: £25.67ph + overtime over 40 hours

An M&E Contractor are looking for a proactive Mechanical Supervisor to oversee the mechanical team on a range of mechanical projects up to the value of £3M. They deliver a comprehensive range of services from complete installations of heating, hot and cold-water systems and gas pipework to control system installations, upgrades and refurbishments across a variety of sectors including commercial, schools, hospitals and MOD.

As the Mechanical Supervisor, you will coordinate and supervise the mechanical team to deliver the project on time and on budget. You will be overseeing progress of mechanical installation works, ensuring quality control, compliance and H&S regulations.

As the Mechanical Supervisor you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage the mechanical on-site labour for the project and co-ordinate onsite sub-contractors, checking RAMs and highlighting any issues.
  • Hold toolbox talks with the labour team and attend site meetings.
  • Inspect and assess installations throughout the project and upon completion.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
  • Liaise with project managers to address any issues ensuring smooth project execution.
  • Maintain close working relationships with sub-contractors and internal teams.
  • Order materials and plant to ensure work can be completed.

Successful applicants will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Overall knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of mechanical systems and their installation methods.
  • Good communication skills and experience supervising mechanical teams with strong leadership and management skills.
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Experience in planning, scheduling and executing mechanical projects.
  • The ability to work under pressure to meet set deadlines.
  • Valid SSSTS / Gold CSCS Skills Card / SMSTS.
  • Relevant mechanical industry qualifications.
  • Previous experience working in commercial projects.
