An M&E Contractor are looking for a proactive Mechanical Project Manager to oversee and deliver a range of mechanical projects up to the value of £3M with the ability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously. They deliver a comprehensive range of services from complete installations of heating, hot and cold-water systems and gas pipework to control system installations, upgrades and refurbishments across a variety of sectors including commercial, schools, hospitals and MOD.
As the Mechanical Project Manager, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations of mechanical projects up to the value of £3M.
- Manage materials, labour, sub-contractors, installation, procurement and drawing programmes in accordance with installation and specification requirements.
- Oversee site operatives and subcontractors to ensure timely and on-budget delivery.
- Ensure all work is compliant with current mechanical regulations and health & safety standards.
- Conduct site inspections and quality control checks ensuring all works meets industry standards, regulations and client’s specifications.
- Maintain accurate project records, documentation and reporting.
- Ensure a smooth mechanical handover to the client and provide aftercare support.
- Assist with tender and quotes preparation.
- Liaise and work closely with MEPH small projects division.
Successful applicants will have the following qualifications and experience:
- Proven experience of working within a similar environment including mechanical installations and project management on projects up to £3M (M&E).
- Overall knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of mechanical systems and their installation methods.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
- Effective planning and project management skills.
- Consistently good financial returns on projects considering all relevant factors.
- Good people management and motivational skills.
- The ability to work under pressure to meet set deadlines.
- The ability to plan, co-ordinate and prioritise workloads.
- Strong results orientation.
- Valid SMSTS, SSSTS, Gold CSCS Skills Card.
- Relevant mechanical industry qualifications.
