Job Title: M&E Commercial Lead
Location: Northampton or Cambridge
Salary: Up to £70,000 depending on experience

A national M&E Contractor are looking for a motivated M&E Commercial Lead to join their expanding team in Northampton or Cambridge. The company provides M&E services to a wide range of clients and businesses across a multitude of sectors including Commercial, Education, Healthcare, Defence and MOJ. These projects are typically valued up to £10M.
The successful candidate will ensure projects are commercially controlled and delivered in line with the client\’s requirements to the company\’s high standards. You will be expected to optimise financial aspects of the projects through cost management, monitoring and control over several multi-disciplined projects simultaneously, whilst providing commercial support working closely with the Project Managers.
Responsibilities
- Preparing, managing and reviewing cost estimates, budgets and bills of quantities.
- Negotiating and preparing Sub-Contract order documents.
- Valuing and raising monthly Sub-Contract payment notifications/pay less notices.
- Oversee credit control on projects.
- Conducting risk and value management.
- Compiling monthly applications.
- Preparing project CVR\’s and leading monthly CVR project meetings.
- Costing and agreeing project variation accounts throughout the project lifecycle.
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the M&E industry.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in building services projects.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Structured approach with the ability to work under pressure to meet set deadlines.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills at all levels.
- Commercial awareness.
- Strong IT skills using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Experience of using procurement systems.
- HNC or HND in building services (desirable).
- Quantity Surveying formal academic training (desirable).
