We have a current opportunity for an Employee Relations Advisor on a permanent basis. The head office is based in Northampton but the successful candidate can be based in the East Midlands as will need accessibility to the Head office as well as being able to travel from site to site around the UK.

Our client, a family-owned business and one of Europe's largest millers, is committed to the sustainability and longevity of flour milling whilst investing heavily in their people, processes, and products. They are looking for an Employee Relations Advisor to join their team.

The Role

You will be responsible for promoting a positive work culture by addressing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies. You will provide expert advice to management and employees on workplace issues, conducting investigations, and supporting initiatives that enhance employee engagement and satisfaction. This role requires a deep understanding of employment law and experience of working with and building union relationships, collective agreements knowledge, and managing operational challenges to support business needs.

Key Skills / Experience

  • Minimum MCIPD qualified ideally but not essential
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources or employee relations.
  • Proven track record of managing workplace conflicts and conducting investigations and disciplinary hearings.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation expertise.
  • Ability to work at pace and handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Working under pressure and managing sensitive issues.
  • Must have driving licence.
