Senior Software Engineer

The Senior Software Engineer will provide software engineering support to Ultra projects. The role involves operating as a key member of a project team, bringing experience in software engineering, and supporting bid work by scoping software tasks. Location Wimborne, UK Responsibilities Supporting the software engineering aspects of projects Applying appropriate software engineering practices Generating and maintaining high-quality documentation for review and release Using software engineering tools for requirements management and design modeling Representing software engineering to project or customer communities Supporting other disciplines such as design, production, or testing Contributing to the development of engineering and business processes Drafting and estimating software engineering parts of bid proposals Mentoring less experienced team members Performing other duties as required Qualifications and Skills British nationality due to security contractual compliance Degree in a software engineering related discipline Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status or working towards it (advantageous) Experience in software design and coding in languages like C, C++, C#, Pascal, Ada Ability to analyze requirements and produce specifications Effective communication skills across technical and business disciplines Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities Experience in a safety-regulated industry (desired) Knowledge of PLC, HMI/SCADA, NI LabVIEW (beneficial) Good financial, commercial, and safety awareness (beneficial) Additional Information The role may require travel within the UK and overseas.
