Our Wimborne Quality team is growing! We are looking for a Quality Inspector to join our team. As the QC Inspector, you will be responsible for checking product quality including goods in inspection, in process build and final product release of completed units to customers. This role includes surveying equipment at initial receipt for repair and is predominantly a mix of electrical, wiring, and electronic P.C.B assemblies with mechanical checks where required.

Your Challenge:

  • Ensuring that Customer requirements are met in accordance with the ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 accreditations by monitoring the effectiveness of our processes and continually developing them.
  • Goods-inward inspection of (coded) goods received from suppliers.
  • Take a lead role in the process of initial survey and inspection of equipment returned for repair and refurbishment.
  • Intermediate and final release inspection of manufactured equipment verifying adherence to product definition (e.g. wiring schedules, drawings) as defined in Router —Traveler documentation and the Bills of Materials (BoM).
  • To work with the quality department to ensure relevant standards are maintained.
  • Completion of electronic and paper records as defined within company processes.
  • Identification and investigation of corrective and preventive action and assistance with its effective implementation.
  • To monitor/record the performance of assembly and test operations to assist with the continuous improvement of manufacturing activities (e.g. Right First Time performance - RFT).
  • Generating ‘Life-Time Quality Record’ (LTQR) document packs in support of customer deliverables.

What You Bring:

  • Security contractual compliance will require incumbents must be a sole British National.
  • Previous experience in a Quality Assurance / Quality Control related position essential.
  • Familiarity with BS EN ISO 9001, AS9100 or other manufacturing industry related Quality standards.
  • Sound knowledge of Quality management principles and techniques within a manufacturing environment, including a working knowledge of non-conformance management principles and problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical & mechanical engineering drawings, including an understanding of circuit diagrams, tolerances, geometric tolerances and weld symbols.
  • Prior experience and good understanding of metrology techniques required for the inspection of precision mechanical components.
  • Prior experience of electrical/electronics assembly, precision mechanical manufacture, and mechanical manufacturing techniques including machining and welding would be an advantage.
  • Electronic / Electrical Inspection experience to IPC 610/620 standards or equivalent would be an advantage.
  • An understanding of ESD procedures, equipment and controls.
  • An understanding of First Article Inspection requirements, with knowledge of AS9102 Aerospace First Article Inspection Requirement preferred.
  • Certified Internal Auditor or demonstrable experience of internal audits; Lead Auditor / Third party auditing experience an advantage.
