Are you technically minded, commercially aware and looking to build a career in engineering and technical sales? We are looking for an Associate Sales Engineer to join our Farris team in Corby. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineering graduate or someone with strong technical qualifications who wants to develop their career within an international engineering business.

As an Associate Sales Engineer, you will support our customers and sales representatives throughout the sales and project lifecycle — from understanding customer requirements and preparing technical quotations through to order execution and delivery. You will work closely with Sales, Engineering, Operations, Contracts, Finance and other departments, gaining broad exposure to both the technical and commercial sides of the business.

YOUR CHALLENGE:

  • Supporting customers and sales representatives with technical and commercial enquiries
  • Reviewing and interpreting customer specifications and requirements
  • Assisting with the sizing and selection of valves
  • Preparing technical quotations, proposals and responses to RFQs/RFPs
  • Communicating product specifications, capabilities and availability
  • Supporting customer meetings, technical discussions and project kick-off meetings
  • Reviewing purchase orders and Letters of Intent following quotation conversion
  • Entering and managing orders within the MRP system
  • Coordinating with Operations, Engineering and other departments throughout order execution
  • Monitoring project milestones, inspections, documentation and shipment requirements
  • Supporting CRM and sales pipeline activities
  • Building strong relationships with customers, representatives and internal teams

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • A degree in Engineering; or Strong A Levels, particularly Maths and Physics/Chemistry; or BTEC Level 3 in Engineering
  • Strong numerical and analytical ability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A confident and professional telephone manner
  • Good organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A strong customer-service ethic
  • Ability to take ownership and accountability for your work
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • A positive attitude and genuine desire to learn and develop
