Our Supply Chain Manager will lead, develop and manage the strategy for all supply chain related activities, including capacity and capability both internally and externally, resources (people and inventory) and processes across the procurement, planning and stores/goods-in/despatch functions to ensure the business can deliver goods to quality, cost, and schedule.
Your Challenge
- Ownership of the supply chain strategy, including:
- Ensuring external suppliers can meet existing and future capacity and capability demands through a period of sustained growth
- Supplier partnerships, framework agreements and vendor development
- Contract and order management for key supplier/purchase orders including commercial flow-down of T&Cs
- Development, implementation, and management of key performance indicators (KPIs) across the function, including material spend, inventory holding and vendor performance
- Ensures material requirements are planned and available to effectively deliver to schedule, budget and to the agreed quality level for the business in both a product and project capacity
- Ensures the appropriate systems and procedures are established, used, and developed, to deliver best practice across the supply chain, including materials management and procurement processes to ensure both internal and customer compliance
- Identifies and deploys technical skill sets, resource levels and systems to support delivery (including storage) and engaging of external resources
- Manages operational risks and issues and performs root cause analysis to resolve problems
- Ensures perpetual inventory counting is conducted in accordance with Company procedures and statutory requirements and ensures stock transaction discipline and policies are adhered to maintain stock accuracy
- Determines, sets, and delivers goals and objectives for the functional team in line with the company’s strategic aims and objectives
- Ensures the function is compliant to all health & safety, quality, regulatory and environmental standards
- Leads continuous improvement activities within the function to achieve clear measurable outcomes and supports CI activities elsewhere across the business
What You Bring
- Security contractual compliance requires incumbents to be a sole British National.
- Previous experience working with procurement or planning department and leading materials (or elements of) management teams within a regulated industry
- CIPS or MCIPS qualification or equivalent
- Understanding of quality systems such as ISO-9001, OHSAS 18001 and NQA-1
- Expertise working with materials modules in MRP/ERP systems
- Strategic thinker with clear analytical skills and the ability to balance long-term and short-term priorities
- Commercially and financially astute, with strong negotiation and decision-making skills
- Ability to challenge, influence and present to all levels (internal and external stakeholders)
- Positive and pragmatic approach to achieving results
- The ability to analyse problems and recommend a course of action
- Strong leadership and people management skills, including leading a team and managing and motivating staff to achieve challenging goals
Desired Skills
- SIOP or IBP ownership or implementation experience
- Nuclear and/or Aerospace industry, including working with specific relevant standards (e.g. NQA-1, AS9100)
- Experience of bringing automation into management of materials and/or reporting
