The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring the efficient movement, storage, and tracking of materials and products for a facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Executes daily material handling activities including receiving, inspecting, and storing materials, parts and products. Ensures that all materials are properly labeled, packaged, and stored in designated areas.
  • Supports the inventory management process by counting and verifying materials, parts and products. Identifies and reports any discrepancies or damages. Recommends process improvements to reduce future discrepancies.
  • Executes daily warehouse operations, including picking and packing materials, preparing shipments and maintaining a clean and organized work area. Posts weights and shipping charges and prepares goods for final shipment. Contacts carriers to pick up freight. Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped.
  • Performs a variety of kitting and order functions. Performs cycle count inventory.
  • Lifts heavy items and may operate a forklift.

Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of inventory management principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Physical ability to lift, push and pull materials and equipment.
