Our Wimborne Curtiss‑Wright site is growing! We are looking to add a Manufacturing Engineer to our team. The Manufacturing Engineer’s role is key to driving process improvements, supporting production efficiency, and ensuring high-quality output across our business.

Location: Wimborne, UK

Your Challenge:

  • Develop, implement, and optimise manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by designing and validating manufacturing methods, tooling, and layouts.
  • Collaborate with design, quality, and operations teams to ensure manufacturability and smooth production handover.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues.
  • Create and maintain process documentation including work instructions, PFMEAs, and control plans.
  • Drive lean manufacturing initiatives and support Six Sigma projects.
  • Assist in the selection, installation, and commissioning of new equipment and technologies.
  • Provide direct support to production teams and resolve technical challenges on the shop floor.
  • Ensure process standardisation and stability across manufacturing operations.
  • Any other duties (considered reasonable) as and when required by the business.

  • Effective communication skills – able to clearly convey technical concepts to both engineering and non-engineering colleagues.

  • Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and quality management standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
