Responsible for providing configuration control, management, performance, and reporting of allocated Drawing Office services that meet the needs of the business while supporting Engineering and Manufacturing teams.
The Document Controller is part of the Configuration Management team, supporting engineering projects and manufacturing orders through configuration control, ERP system data entry, and drawing office support.

Your Responsibilities
- Ensure individual deliverables are identified and work with the Delivery Configuration Controller and Business Units to meet schedule requirements.
- Update product configuration according to approved change instructions.
- Ensure configuration control is robust and checked before releasing drawing packs.
- Support other Drawing Office team members.
- Ensure product configuration aligns with Production Engineering, Material Management, and Manufacturing requirements.
- Participate in contract reviews and ensure drawing pack requirements are identified for smooth manufacturing and procurement.
- Investigate and resolve product configuration issues, completing corrective actions.
- Support queries related to drawing packs with relevant departments.
- Be innovative and aware of new technologies/processes, supporting their integration into the Drawing Office.
- Demonstrate initiative in a proactive, dynamic environment supporting project success.
- Adhere to UENCS company procedures, design, development, and configuration control procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- BTEC or equivalent in a related discipline.
- Knowledge of engineering disciplines, reading schematics, wiring schedules, and mechanical drawings.
- Experience in a Drawing Office environment managing product configuration.
- Experience with Bills of Materials and Parts Masters in an ERP system.
- Support experience for Manufacturing departments.
- Experience with military and naval product configuration control.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and assembly techniques.
- Experience reviewing and improving configuration control processes.
- Ability to work within project constraints of quality, cost, and schedule.
- Good financial, commercial, and safety awareness.
