We are recruiting for a Tax Accountant / Manager on behalf of a well-established accountancy firm, with the role being based at the firm's Milton Keynes office. The firm provides high quality services to businesses and individuals, and this role will be to provide tax advisory and compliance services to a range of clients.
This Tax Accountant / Manager role would suit either someone newly qualified as Tax Accountant or someone with over three years post qualified experience as Tax Manager, hence the wide salary range advertised.
As Tax Accountant / Manager your responsibilities will include:
- Manage and review corporate tax returns (CT600s), trust returns, and personal self-assessment tax returns
- Ensuring all filings are completed accurately and submitted within HMRC deadlines
- Oversee VAT, PAYE, and other tax-related filings where required
- Provide proactive tax planning and advisory support to individuals and corporate clients
- Advise on areas such as capital gains tax, inheritance tax, dividend planning, and business restructuring
- Act as the main point of contact for a portfolio of clients and communicate complex tax matters clearly and effectively to clients
- Build and maintain strong, trusted client relationships and deliver excellent client service
- Supervise and support junior members of the tax team
- Review and provide feedback on work prepared by others
- Promote efficient workflows and uphold quality standards across tax processes
- Keep up to date with current tax legislation and HMRC developments and keep clients and internal teams informed of relevant changes and implications
- Identify opportunities to expand services or attract new clients and support proposals

- Strong up to date technical knowledge of UK legislation
- Good general IT skills and working knowledge of tax and accounting software

- Be well organised and able to work effectively within a team and independently when needed
- Client focussed approach
