An expanding accountancy practice is recruiting for a Semi Senior Accountant to join an entrepreneurial team in providing exemplary compliance and advisory services to a varied client portfolio. The ideal candidate will be AAT qualified or part qualified ACA or ACCA, with a minimum of two years experience gained within a UK accountancy firm.

The Semi Senior Accountant will receive a competitive salary, depending upon experience, study support, career progression, pension, professional development, free on-site parking, exposure to a variety of clients and industries.

As Semi Senior Accountant your responsibilities will include:

  • Statutory accounts preparation for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
  • Management accounts and financial reports
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns for a portfolio of clients
  • Assisting clients with bookkeeping and accounting queries
  • Liaising directly with clients to provide excellent service and build strong relationships
  • Supporting senior members of the team with year-end accounts and advisory work
  • Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines
  • Keeping up to date with accounting standards and tax legislation

  • A minimum of two years recent experience working within a UK accountancy practice
  • Experience preparing both statutory and management accounts
  • Experience preparing VAT returns

  • Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage would be an advantage
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A proactive, positive attitude with a desire to learn and develop
  • Able to manage your workload effectively and build strong client relationships
