Are you currently looking for a Payroll Assistant role with a well-established accountancy practice in Maidenhead? If you are, read on, because this may be exactly what you are looking for. Within this role you will be processing and servicing payroll clients, using IRIS Payroll Professional software.
This is a fantastic firm that will offer the successful candidate a competitive salary, depending upon experience, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, the opportunity to further develop skills, career progression and an element of hybrid working once settled in.
Reporting to the Accounts & Outsourcing Partner your responsibilities will include:
- Communicate directly with clients on phone and email maintaining a polite manner at all times
- Liaise with partners and managers responsible for client immediately if problems arise, and ensure payrolls are prepared, run and paid by due dates
- Ensure payroll control sheets/workflow are maintained and kept up to date at all times
- In respect of payroll run, BACS payments for salaries and PAYE payments and ultimately billing the client
- Ensure month end payroll fee notes are prepared and dated in the month to which the payroll run belongs
- Devise systems and control checks for clients to improve payroll accuracy; encourage clients to use spreadsheets with control totals to allow software verification of data input
- Keep abreast of budget, minimum wage and year-end payroll changes and ensure software up to date in new payroll year
- Keep key staff informed when cover is required due to holiday absences from the office to ensure a seamless service is given to payroll clients and cover organised when away if necessary
- Develop relevant knowledge and skills through continued study and reading monthly PAYE circulars and HMRC website
