Seeking an Audit Senior Associate to join the team of a renowned accountancy firm, to be based in Reading. The role would suit someone who has qualified ACA or ACCA and has significant previous audit experience gained in a UK accountancy practice environment. This firm would like to meet external auditors with extensive experience from either corporate audit or not-for-profit audit background.

As Audit Senior Associate, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working as part of a team, or the first point of contact for clients on a day-to-day basis, anticipating client needs, and communicating effectively with clients.
  • Assisting in the planning, execution and finalisation of all areas of the audit assignment, and demonstrating an understanding of the different types of risk, considering and managing risk in all interactions with clients.
  • Producing work for the team leader, Manager and/or Partner review.
  • Nurturing business development skills and identifying additional sales opportunities.
  • Demonstrating an application and solution-based approach to problem solving.
  • Identifying areas requiring improvement in the client's business processes and possible recommendations, and assisting with the preparation of the Audit Findings Reports to be provided to the client.
  • Being aware of progress against the audit budget and being able to explain variances to the budget to the Manager.
  • Potentially travelling to areas outside of Reading to support audit teams from other offices.
  • Continuing to develop skills, building on existing knowledge.
  • Couching junior members of the team, providing guidance and assistance as required.

  • Qualified ACA/ACCA.
  • Significant auditing and accounting experience gained within a UK accountancy practice environment.
  • Sound understanding of UKGAAP and accounting principles.
  • Along with corporate audit experience, non-profits and pensions experience would be advantageous.
  • Good general IT skills; Microsoft Office, especially Excel and ideally CaseWare.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Energy and enthusiasm with a desire for personal and career development.
  • A willingness to travel to client site is essential.
