We are recruiting for an Audit & Accounts Senior on behalf of a successful, boutique, general accountancy practice that is enjoying a period of growth. You will be joining a firm that specialise in providing an extensive range of services to small and medium-sized businesses. This is a local and progressive firm offering a good work/life balance, with a core understanding of the value of collaboration and as such the role is 100% office based. As Audit & Accounts Senior, your responsibilities will include: Assisting with client meetings and be able to deal with client queries on accounting and taxation matters, identifying any issues. Assist with onboarding new clients, identify and register with HMRC for relevant taxes, advise new clients of accounting requirements. Take responsibility for key aspects of audit assignments such as planning, audit testing and file preparation and assistance with finalisation. Assist in leading audit teams and junior staff. Preparation of some larger year end accounts assignments, corporation tax computations, management accounts. Review of VAT returns and bookkeeping. Maintain continuous and beneficial contact with clients and dealing with queries. Monitor time spent on engagements to ensure a commercial return for the business and invoicing of client work. Assist in the on-job training and development of junior staff. We welcome applications, for the position of Audit & Accounts Senior, from candidates with the following skills, experience and attributes: ACCA/ACA qualified with at least five years experience gained within UK practice. Be competent in all aspects of audit, accounts and taxation work for small/medium companies, sole traders and partnerships. Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office; knowledge of CCH Accounts Preparation/Pro Audit, Sage, QuickBooks and Xero software is desirable. Be technically up to date. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience of staff supervision. Knowledge of billing process would be an advantage.
