Our client, a successful accountancy practice, is seeking a Payroll Administrator to join the team.

The firm is experiencing steady growth and requires an additional payroll professional to meet demand.

The role is full‑time, but part‑time onboarding on a pro‑rata salary basis is possible.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly, monthly, and annual payrolls for up to 100 companies
  • Process starters, leavers, and other payroll entries
  • Process amendments to salaries and employee data
  • Resolve day‑to‑day queries and liaise with clients to request information for payroll preparation
  • Calculate and check clients’ payroll for approval
  • Reconcile client payrolls ensuring all payrolls processed are accurate
  • Provide approval reports to clients
  • Provide post‑payroll reporting to clients
  • Process auto‑enrolment opt‑in and opt‑out
  • Deal with clients’ and employees’ payroll queries
  • Liaise with HMRC and handle queries
  • Ensure the payroll database is up‑to‑date and accurate
  • Issue P45s
  • Ensure all electronic filing is complete

Qualifications

  • Previous payroll experience, preferably within a practice or payroll bureau environment
  • Understanding of statutory payroll requirements (SSP, SMP, SPP, PAYE & NI)
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong IT skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
