Job Description
We are recruiting on behalf of an expanding accountancy practice for a Tax Semi Senior to join the tax department at the firm’s Watford office. This is a mixed tax role that would suit someone with 2-3 years’ tax experience gained within practice. Whilst ATT qualification is preferred it isn’t essential.\\n\\nAlong with a competitive salary, depending upon experience and qualification, the Tax Semi Senior will receive a good benefits package, study support as applicable and the advantage of working within a friendly and supportive team.\\n\\nAs Tax Semi Senior your responsibilities will include:\\n\\n * Providing tax compliance services and advice to a diverse portfolio, comprising mainly family companies and their owners, small businesses and private individuals\\n\\n * Responsibility for a portfolio of personal and company clients, preparing and submitting tax returns and managing statutory deadlines and other tax compliance matters\\n\\n * Reviewing tax returns prepared by other members of the tax team\\n\\n * Tax planning and advisory work\\n\\n * Taking on additional responsibilities and ad hoc tasks as required, including researching various tax matters and assisting in drafting tax advice\\n\\n * Handling ad hoc client queries\\n\\n * Responding quickly and effectively to client requirements\\n\\n * Identifying tax planning opportunities for clients\\n\\n * Contribute to the development of internal tax department procedures\\n\\n * Assist with administrative tasks as required\\n\\nWe welcome application from people that can satisfy the following:\\n\\n * Have 2-3 years’ experience gained within a UK accountancy practice environment\\n\\n * Ideally ATT qualified – experienced, non-qualified candidate will be considered\\n\\n * Experience with income tax, corporation tax and capital gains tax – preferably some experience in other main taxes such as inheritance tax and VAT\\n\\n * Excellent written and verbal communication skills – able to communicate effectively with clients from a variety of backgrounds in all environments\\n\\n * Ability to build strong personal relationships with other members of the tax team and develop strong client relationships\\n\\n * Strong and up to date tax technical knowledge\\n\\n * Good attention to detail and organisational skills\\n\\n * Strong general IT skills including Microsoft Office and working knowledge of tax software\\n\\n * Proactive and enthusiastic attitude\\n\\nSubmit your CV for this Tax Semi Senior role\\n\\nUnfortunately, we cannot accept applications for this role from candidates that do not have the right to work in the UK, or require visa sponsorship, either currently or in the future.
