Accounts & Business Services Senior in Petersfield

We are recruiting for an Accounts & Business Services Senior on behalf of a well-established accountancy firm to contribute to the firm’s provision of a range of accounting, business services, tax and audit services to a varied client portfolio. The ideal candidate will be qualified ACCA or ACA with significant experience gained within a UK accountancy practice environment.

As Accounts & Business Services Senior your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting partners and managers in providing quality accounting and business services to a varied client portfolio
• Planning assignments and overseeing the work of junior staff if/as appropriate
• Preparing final accounts for clients – review accounts work of junior team members to ensure accuracy and quality
• Business tax computations and draft corporate tax returns for review
• Ensure all statutory returns are completed and filed on time
• Planning and monitoring own workflow, and the effective financial management, of accounts work
• Have input to fee quotes and to prepare for manager/partner approval as required
• Build and maintain regular contact with clients by telephone, email, letter and in person, acting as a key day-to-day point of contact
• Supervise, coach and support the development of trainees and junior staff, providing constructive feedback and guidance where required
• To undertake any ad hoc projects as requested by the managers/partners

A good working knowledge of limited companies, sole traders, partnerships and charities is desirable, together with experience of accounts preparation, audit experience, corporation tax and management of client relationships.

• Able to manage assignments with minimal supervision and have experience of supervising and supporting junior staff

• Good general IT skills and experience with accounting software
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and colleagues
