We have an excellent opportunity for a talented, qualified audit professional to join a well-established, independent accountancy practice. Reporting to directors and partners, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a mixed portfolio of commercial and not-for-profit clients ranging in sector and size
  • Ensuring assignments are completed on time in accordance with the firm’s procedures and quality expectations
  • Briefing and overseeing staff on assignments, providing on the job training as required, liaising with senior client staff to ensure the assignment is completed as per the agreed terms
  • Identifying and resolving key audit matters and contentious items, in consultation with the client, Director/Partner and technical team as appropriate
  • Attending and presenting at client audit committee and board meetings
  • Assisting directors and partners with business development opportunities including participation in tendering process
  • Accounts preparation on occasion, if desired
  • Willingness to be hands on to ensure assignments are completed on time

  • ACA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent) with extensive experience gained within a UK practice environment
  • Proven experience producing high quality audits and client handling
  • Strong IT skills – experience of Mercia audit methodology and Myworkpapers a bonus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
