Opportunity for an Accounts Senior to join a successful accountancy practice that is looking to build its team. The role will focus on statutory annual accounts preparation, for a varied portfolio of SMEs and limited companies along with ad hoc advisory services. The firm is looking for an ambitious, recently qualified ACA/ACCA accountant who is looking for a rewarding role within a friendly working environment of an independent accountancy practice.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of statutory and annual accounts from records supplied by a range of clients
- Prepare draft business tax computations and CT600 returns
- Prepare the year end accounting files and ensure they are complete, with back up schedules to support balance sheet figures
- Ad-hoc advisory services
- Maintain and build strong working relationships with clients and colleagues and ensure that all communications are conducted in a professional manner
- Manage client expectations, provide proactive advice, and deliver services within agreed timeframes
- Handle client queries promptly and professionally, effectively resolving issues
- Delegating tasks and overseeing and reviewing the work of junior team members and provide guidance
- Mentoring trainees and supporting their professional development
- Supporting Partners and Managers with their client portfolios
- Ensure compliance with professional standards and internal procedures
Qualifications
- ACA/ACCA recently qualified (exceptional finalist and qualified by experience applications may be considered)
- Significant experience gained within a UK accountancy practice
- Proficient in the preparation of statutory and annual accounts for a variety of clients including SMEs and limited companies
- Up to date knowledge of accounting standards
- Good general IT skills; MS Office with proficiency in cloud accounting packages (particularly Xero), QuickBooks, Sage L50, IRIS (ideally)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Keen eye for detail
- Able to work under pressure to manage deadlines
