Opportunity for an ACCA/ACA qualified Accountant to join a well-established accountancy practice at its Milton Keynes office. The firm is growing, dynamic and innovative, developing new ideas and services to assist clients.
This is a full-time role that offers flexible working and an element of hybrid working which is two days WFH after the settling in period.
Benefits package includes:
- Annual leave will be 25 days per annum (pro rata) with three days normally taken at Christmas/New Year
- Annual Christmas Bonus (1 week’s salary)

As Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the management and Principals of the firm and contribute towards assisting the team in the continued growth of the Milton Keynes office
- Review and manage a portfolio of jobs within the accounts team
- Manage the financial aspects, servicing and developing a client portfolio, including budgeting, negotiation, billing and recovery
- Managing statutory accounts preparation assignments and controlling assignment teams
- Preparation of Corporate Tax Returns in conjunction with accounts for FRS 105 clients
- Preparation of Personal Tax Returns
- Finalising accounts under the overall control of the Senior Manager and Principals
- Working with Xero and QuickBooks Online and ability to advise cloud-based clients
The firm is seeking an Accountant with the following skills and attributes:
- ACA/ACCA qualified (2 to 5 years PQE) – exceptional qualified by experience candidates will be considered
- Significant accounting experience gained within a UK accountancy practice environment
- Demonstrable working knowledge of accounting standards and corporate tax matters - Personal tax experience would be an advantage
- Significant experience of cloud accounts packages (particularly Xero and QuickBooks Online)
- Excellent communication and people management skills
- Experience of managing staff and clients successfully
- Able to prioritise and work under pressure in a calm and collected manner to meet tight deadlines
- Be a team player with good interpersonal skills and an ability to manage junior team members
