CNC Operator/Wood machinist - Lates Salary: Competitive salary, dependent on experience. Employment: Permanent, 39 hours per week Work schedule: Monday - Wednesday 3:30pm – 2:00am, Thursday 3:30pm – 1:00am Location: Leeds LS10, West Yorkshire Curtis Furniture is a leading UK manufacturer of high-quality hotel bedroom furniture, supplying major hotel brands nationwide. With all manufacturing based at a single, well-organised site, we pride ourselves on quality craftsmanship, efficiency, and strong team collaboration. Job Purpose Your primary responsibility will be to machine and prepare timber and board materials to the required specifications, ensuring all components are produced accurately, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Setting up and operating CNC machinery, along with beam saws and edge banders. * Machining timber and board materials to customer specifications. * Reading and interpreting drawings, labels and production paperwork. * Ensuring components are delivered accurately and on time to production departments. * Carrying out quality inspections and identifying faults or defects. * Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives within the machine shop. * Supporting the wider production team and undertaking general duties as required. * Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment in line with Health & Safety procedures. Essential Skills & Experience: * Previous experience operating CNC woodworking machinery. * Knowledge of beam saws, edge banders and CNC software such as WoodWOP and B-Solid. * Ability to read technical drawings and work accurately to specifications. * Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work. * Able to work independently and as part of a team, using your initiative to solve problems. * Good communication skills, a positive work ethic and a willingness to learn. * Ability to work to production targets while maintaining quality and safety standards.
