Our client, based on the outskirts of Leeds, has been established for 27 years and is the market leader in the manufacture of furniture for the Hospitality Industry. They manufacture and fit out hotels with bespoke furniture for clients such as Hilton, Sheraton, IHG, Marriott & Voco. The company operates within a dynamic and fast-paced environment and the business is experiencing great growth. They are looking for an ambitious graduate to join the buying department.
Job Purpose:
You will be responsible for buying a range of services within the company and managing new and existing suppliers. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist Head of Purchasing with the resourcing process
- Ordering materials for factory production
- Negotiate prices and terms for raw materials
- Source products from both existing and new suppliers
- Ensure products procured meet required QA requirements
- Manage the critical path ensuring all orders are arriving on time
- Chasing up overdue orders
- Deal with supply chain issues as they arise
- Monitor inventory levels and re-ordering accordingly and in line with demand
Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to plan and prioritise workload to meet deadlines, work on own initiative and identify, analyse and solve problems.
- Previous buying experience would be an advantage but not essential
- IT Literate - particularly Excel
- Good communicator both with our internal team and customers
