We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our team and take a leading role in the delivery of a wide variety of projects. Our team are working on a diverse portfolio of multi-million pound projects across sectors in Yorkshire, the North-East and beyond with a focus on healthcare, education, sports & leisure, residential development, and urban regeneration. We have delivered significant and high-profile projects including Aire Park, Dyecoats, Kirklees Cultural Heart, Bradford City Village and Wellington Place, as well as many other high-profile developments.

The role is for a structural engineer with a proven track record to be the day-to-day engineering lead, working with minimal supervision and representing the company at external design and progress meetings. The position will be tailored to suit the successful candidate’s experience and offers excellent scope for progression, with opportunities to mentor and support team members.

You will have experience of leading and managing some projects; including developing design deliverables, delivery programmes and ensuring strong cross-disciplinary collaboration with both our internal teams and external clients. You would ideally be chartered with the IStructE or ICE or able to demonstrate clear progression towards chartership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the structural design and delivery of projects from concept through to construction stage.
  • Manage day-to-day project coordination and represent us at meetings with clients, designers, contractors and other stakeholders.
  • Provide line management and technical guidance to early-career engineers and technicians supporting your projects.
  • Collaborate closely with our in-house technician/BIM team to produce coordinated structural information.
  • Undertake structural analysis and design of structures in steel, concrete, timber and masonry.
  • Carry out structural assessments, refurbishment design and alterations to existing buildings, including work on heritage and conservation projects.
  • Produce clear and concise reports, specifications and design calculations (both hand calculations and software-based).
  • Ensure designs comply with Eurocodes, UK building regulations and relevant industry standards.
  • Work effectively within BIM protocols and contribute to model-based design workflows.
  • Support project programmes, budgets and quality standards while managing your own workload.
