We are seeking a driven, technically sound Structural Engineer to join our growing structural team. In this role, your initial focus will be the structural design of building projects across various sectors. However, we are looking for an ambitious professional with the desire and capability to progress into running, managing, and leading projects from concept through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will be working with colleagues on different projects and learning new things pretty much straight away.
  • To get a good understanding of how structures work and how buildings are put together, you will be looking at how loads are transmitted and resisted, and how different materials are used.
  • You’ll be using software to model and design structural elements and then carry out some hand checks to verify your answers.
  • You will be working on a real mixture of buildings; old and new, big and small, covering pretty much every sector.
  • You will get to see how design progresses from concept through to detail and onto construction.
  • A lot of your work will be design based, but you will also have some exposure in the leadership side of projects.
  • There is also an opportunity for you to get involved in wider activities such as STEM work, charity support, and other community-based activities.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of building structures design across multiple sectors.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Confident communicator.
  • Proficiency with hand calculations and structural design software.
  • Good working knowledge of the Eurocodes and UK building regulations.
  • A proactive mindset eager to expand your capabilities and responsibilities.

Desirable

  • Experience with Tekla Tedds and Tekla Structural Designer (TSD) or comparable analysis/design tools.
  • Project experience over a variety of structural frames, including Steel, Concrete and Refurbishment.
  • Working towards Chartered status (CEng/MIStructE/MICE or equivalent), or already Chartered.
  • Experience mentoring and working with other engineers and draughtsmen.

Above all, the right fit will be guided by what is right when making decisions, who recognises the contribution of others and shares their successes. Someone who is kind, conscientious and has pride in their work and the legacy our profession leaves for everyone.

What we offer

  • A collaborative, supportive team with active mentoring and CPD opportunities.
  • Exposure to a wide range of project types and sectors across the region.
  • Involvement in modern BIM workflows and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Support for relevant training, development and professional accreditation.
  • Opportunity to take on responsibility and progress toward a senior position.
  • Industry leading benefits - Including 5* Holiday Lodges!
  • Award winning training and development programmes.
